In a leader, The Sunday Times referred to Andrew Haldenby’s thoughts last week on the devolution of healthcare powers to Manchester local government.

“As Andrew Haldenby of the think tank Reform puts it: ‘If Manchester gets it right, the change could remove the artificial barriers between different types of healthcare that are so frustrating to patients. Manchester residents could end up telephoning just one number when they want to engage with the health service. That single service could then reach to GPs, hospitals, care homes in one joined-up system.’”
