The NHS must learn to be smarter

In an op-ed, Reform’s Director Andrew Haldenby said:

The great and the good of the NHS could not be clearer. The service is at “breaking point” because of “underfunding”, the leaders of 16 health bodies wrote in an open letter yesterday. After “the longest and most damaging budget squeeze in its history”, the NHS “cannot go on like this”. More money is needed to face the new challenges of the ageing population and worsening mental health. Another commission last month called for around £40 billion a year extra for health and social care a decade from now.
