Ministerial response to Reform report, 13 April 2016

In response to Reform’s report, Who cares? The future of general practice, Alistair Burt, Minister for primary care, said:

“This report shows patients want a seven day NHS and that is exactly why we are making routine GP appointments available in the evening and at weekends. We are also encouraging GPs to work together in networks, boosting the wider primary care workforce and improving the technology offer for patients, with video and phone consultations. A third of the country has already benefited from this improved access and by 2020 everyone will be able to see a GP at a time that suits them.”
