The Daily Mail published an article on Reform‘s report, Who cares? The future of general practice.

It highlighted Reform‘s findings that public demand does exist for seven-day GP services. It also cited Reform‘s assertion that two thirds of patients taking up surgery appointments don’t need to see a GP.

“The author of the Reform report, Alex Hitchcock, said: ‘Employing 5,000 more GPs is nothing more than a sticking plaster for an out-of-date model.’ He added: ‘Bigger practices and new technology can deliver better access and stop millions of unnecessary A&E visits.”
