Andrew Haldenby, Director of Reform, appeared on ‘Victoria Derbyshire Live’ to discuss the issue of hospital car parking charges.


He argued they were a “necessary evil” and existed to stop hospital car parks being used by non-patients. He also argued that concessions should be given, as laid out in government guidelines, to those in need. The NHS raises £200 million a year through these charges and this would have to be raised elsewhere.
