BBC South Today, 7 January 2016

Researcher Leo Ewbank appeared on BBC South Today to discusswhether patients should be charged for GP appointments. He argued that the measure could raise some much needed revenue for the NHS, in the region of hundreds of millions of pounds (depending on rates and exemptions), at a time of severe financial pressure. He also pointed out that charges have existed in the NHS since the 1950s, such as charges for dentistry and some prescriptions.
