Senior Researcher Ed Holmes was interviewed by BBC Radio Scotland about the latest report published by Reform, Working welfare: a radically new approach to sickness and disability benefits, which argues for a radical overhaul of the disability welfare system.

Reform argues for a single out-of-work benefit. Savings from this rate reduction should then be reinvested into Personal Independence Payment – which contributes to the additional costs incurred by someone with a long-term condition – and into support services. It allows gives more opportunity for a personalised system, focused on what a claimant can do.
