Tom Richmond, Senior Research Fellow at Reform, appeared on BBC Radio London to discuss the findings of Reform‘s latest reportThe great training robbery: assessing the first year of the apprenticeship levy.

Hundreds of millions of pounds in subsidies are available to companies that provide an apprenticeship. Around 40% of current apprenticeships don’t meet the international definitions of an apprenticeship which is unfair on young people. More robust definitions are needed from the government to prevent companies being able to take advantage of loopholes.
