Director Andrew Haldenby appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme to discuss whether patients should be charged for GP visits. He argued that this measure should be seriously considered, particularly when the financial needs of the NHS is taken into account. He highlighted that charges already exist in the NHS (for example, for certain prescriptions) so politicians should not be afraid to discuss this option and, secondly, the majority of developed countries already charge for GP appointments.
