BBC Radio 4 ‘Today’, 20 September 2016

Amy Finch, Research Manager, Head of Education, appeared on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme to discuss the publication of Reform‘s latest report, Academy chains unlocked.

She argued that school governors should be paid, to allow academy chains to get the right governors with the right skills in place. Governors are playing an increasingly important role, holding headteachers to account and checking the finances are sound. Paying governors would allow schools to “professionalise” the governance structure and fill in any skills gaps.
