The future of general practice

To mark the launch of Reform’s report, Who cares? The future of general practice, Reform convened a high level policy roundtable led by Professor Paul Corrigan CBE, Adjunct Professor of Health Policy, Imperial College London and former Senior Health Police Adviser to Tony Blair, to explore the future of general practice. Attendees discussed why general practice needs to change radically to meet the needs of patients in a sustainable way.

The conversation explored the main barriers to the development of primary care, the progress and potential of new models of care, and what measures are needed to drive change including the role of technology and policy makers. Attendees also highlighted the need to ensure that general practice remains an attractive career going forward.
