Education technology is already starting to deliver tangible benefits to universities, their staff and their students. More data than ever before is being provided to inform student choices. Blended learning approaches are providing new means of collaboration. Learning analytics is helping to improve retention. New back-office systems are finding efficiencies.
But expectations are changing. Students want a better experience. Academics want to demonstrate their impact. Universities want evidence of value for money from technology providers. The Government also wants to see both better quality teaching and a boost to GDP.
We were delighted to be joined by Paul Feldman, Chief Executive of JISC, whose stated mission is to make the UK “the most digitally-advanced higher education, further education and research nation in the world”, to explore this theme further.
