Reform convened a private policy roundtable led by Sam Gyimah MP, Minister for Prisons and Probation.
The Ministry of Justice is in many ways in the vanguard of public sector innovation. Across courts, prisons, and probation, powerful reforms are taking place with the aims of making justice fairer, swifter, and cheaper to implement.. The challenge for the new government lies in integrating these reforms across the criminal justice system and improving cooperation throughout the department. If the different areas of the Ministry of Justice work closely together, reflect on developments across the system and learn from each other’s successes and failures, the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts.
This event brought together public service leaders and key experts across court, prison and probation services. The discussion focused on possibilities for integration and better cooperation across these different areas, and the potential presented by technology to revolutionise public services.
This event was held in partnership with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.
