Growing the Internet of Things: Secure by Design

The Internet of Things is one of the most exciting developments in the digital economy. Internet-aware devices and sensors are already raising productivity in manufacturing and there are many other potential applications in other sectors, including health and social care. The security of the Internet of Things will be vital to ensure good performance and also increase consumer trust.

The independent think tank Reform is delighted to invite you to a high-level roundtable on the cyber security of the Internet of Things. The roundtable is in collaboration with DCMS and will contribute to its informal consultation following the publication of its Security of Design report on 7 March, which will outline a number of measures for improving the cyber security of consumer Internet of Things products and associated services. The roundtable is supported by Accenture as part of its major series on opportunities for the UK’s digital economy, in partnership with Reform.

Reform is delighted to convene this high-level policy roundtable, led by Professor Martin Sadler OBE, Chair of the Government’s Secure by Design Expert Advisory Group and has a long and illustrious career at the leading edge of industrial research and development, particularly in fields related to digital and cybersecurity.  This event will bring together around 20 attendees, including senior policy-makers, public service leaders and business leaders. It is being held under Chatham House Rule.

This event is being held in partnership with Accenture:
