Natalie Elphicke, Chief Executive, Housing & Finance Institute
Natalie Elphicke is currently Chief Executive of the Housing & Finance Institute. Natalie’s background is as a national specialist in complex housing and structured finance law and public policy. She has worked on practical delivery of housing and finance for over two decades and with housing associations, councils, central and devolved governments as well as investors and developers.
Her experience led her to be appointed by the UK government to jointly chair the Government’s independent review into the role of local authorities in housing supply with Keith House. The Elphicke-House Report was published in January 2015. A key recommendation of the Elphicke-House Report was the creation of a national Housing & Finance Institute to speed up housing delivery and increase capacity and understanding in the public and private sectors. The Institute holds business engagement and industry roundtables with national and local government and the construction, development, finance and investment industries. The Institute’s flagship Housing Business Ready programme of individual and workshop events has been created specifically to support councils in their housing delivery work. Its practical policy approach secures significant support across a broad political and business spectrum.
Natalie Elphicke was appointed an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2015 for her services to housing.
